David Fischer What I really enjoy most about this release is not its repetitive yet delicate melancholy. Nor is it the arcane, foggy and dark cover, but the beautifully fragile production. There is this slight, still distinct crackling underneath everything that reminds me of Këkht Aräkh's masterful Pale Swordsman.
Cold Winters of Mortebrumes might just serve you right if you're looking for that sound without the black metal. Enchanting dungeon synth. Favorite track: untitled IV.

One of my favorite dungeon synth albums, and I had only heard it a few days ago for the first time. Perfect for drifting off to sleep, but also for driving under the canopy of trees. It is very soft, and pleasant, yet vast at times. The ambient forest sounds are extremely soothing.
